Known for his dynamic vocal ability and distinctive tone, South London’s Dan Amare is releasing his eagerly anticipated debut single ‘The Chase’ on all digital streaming platforms on 16th April 2021.

The self-produced R&B track hears Dan exhibit his 4+-octave vocal range, while also demonstrating his self-taught ability as a lyricist and composer. The lyrics share a lived experience of the challenges Dan has faced in the courtship of a female love interest, and they overlay a bouncy trap-soul rhythm reminiscent of Bryson Tiller’s hit song Don’t.

“When I wrote this song, I was pursuing a girl who would pull away from me every time it felt like we were advancing in our relationship - as if she wanted to be chased. Then whenever I'd stop showing interest, she would be pursuing me instead. It felt romantic and fun, and she also really liked R&B so I wanted to make a song to impress her [laughs]. I hadn’t explored R&B much at that time, so this was my earliest attempt at writing and producing R&B,” Dan expressed about the composition of the track.

Inspired by vocal powerhouses like Chaka Khan, Whitney Houston and Luther Vandross, Amare’s climactic notes in the final chorus soar effortlessly into the female range, reminding us of soul singers like Maxwell, Miguel and Prince.

Dan has received enthusiastic praise from BBC Introducing panellists in 2019, has been pursued numerously by the UK’s largest television singing programmes, and is tipped to soon become a household name.
