Hi, I'm Dan Amare (pronounced Uh-mah-ray) - a South London singer-songwriter and producer, of Dominican and English origin.
I'm a bit of a one-man band: I write, record, produce, mix, and master my own music. I even edit my own music videos! My curiosity for music knows no bounds, so I fuse elements of R&B, Alt-Pop, UK Garage, Caribbean, Afro and Electronic Dance music to create my own blend and I refuse to confine myself to one genre.
My unforgettable melodies will surely get stuck in your head, while lyrically I share personal stories and vulnerable moments with the hope of normalizing and inspiring more authentic and emotional honesty - especially among men.
Vocally influenced by the likes of Chaka Khan, Miguel, Prince and Luther Vandross, I've been numerously scouted by some of the biggest UK Television singing competitions, such as The Voice, Little Mix the Search, Project Icon, X Factor although I opt to follow a more traditional music path.
Independently, I have actively performed across London since 2018, including performances at 2 Sasha Keable’s London headline shows, a sold-out self-promoted show at Notting Hill Arts Club, and on other notable stages like South Bank Centre, London Omeara, EartH Hackney, and the Westfield Shopping Centres. And I started off with terrible stage fright, but definitely not afraid to 'buss a whine' on stage nowadays!
I launched my debut self-produced R&B single release ‘The Chase’, along with a self-edited music video, which secured me a feature in TheBluesProject.co's Track of The Week. I also featured in ENNY’s music video for Keisha’s and Brenda’s. I followed up with an Alt Pop/R&B collaboration with Belgian/Congolese singer MellowHoney entitled ‘Dive In’. Now I'm releasing my third single ‘Brainstorming’ 1st September 2023. It's my favourite to date and I trust you will feel the vibe!
